Russian ruble strengthens to 72.57 vs dollar, 2016 record high
MOSCOW, Mar 4 (PRIME) -- The Russian ruble strengthened to 72.57 against the U.S. dollar at 4:46 p.m. on Friday on the back of rising oil prices, as seen by PRIME in data of the Moscow Exchange.
The Brent price hit U.S. $37.8 per barrel on expectations that top oil producers will meet to discuss oil output freezing soon.
Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that the meeting may take place from March 20 until April 1 either in a Russia city, or in Doha or Vienna.
